--Knives Manufacturer in China
A Knife Engineered for Every Course
Buyers sourcing a dependable knives manufacturer in China consistently look for three things: consistent quality, competitive pricing and a supplier who understands the end-use. At Stelmont, our factory in Jieyang, Guangdong has been manufacturing stainless steel knives since 2005 — supplying restaurant groups, hotel chains, retail brands and importers across more than 60 countries. Every knife we ship has passed five stages of quality control, from incoming raw material inspection through to pre-shipment AQL 2.5 grading.
Our knife range covers four distinct categories, each designed for a specific role at the table. Dinner knives carry the weight of the main course; butter knives handle the details with a rounded, spreading blade; fish knives navigate delicate fillets with their characteristic wide belly and notch; and dessert knives bring refined proportions to the final course. All four are manufactured in-house — one supplier, one shipment, one quality standard across your entire knife programme.
OEM and ODM services are available on all styles. Whether you need your restaurant logo laser-engraved on an existing catalogue piece or a completely new blade silhouette designed from scratch, our in-house tooling team handles the full development cycle.

Butter Knife
Defined by its rounded, blunt blade — purpose-built for spreading rather than cutting. Our butter knives run 16–19 cm and are a staple component in bread basket setups for hotels, bistros and airline catering. The blunt edge makes them safe for self-service buffet use, and the rounded tip is available in classic or spatula-style profiles. Frequently paired with dinner knife sets for a complete bread service.
Scaled down to match the dessert course — refined proportions, a narrower blade and a slightly shorter overall length of 19–21 cm. Our dessert knives pair directly with our dessert fork range, so your full place setting maintains visual harmony from first course to the last. Often ordered by boutique hotels and patisseries looking for a piece that feels intentional rather than simply undersized. PVD colour finishes are particularly popular in this category.
Recognisable by its wide, trowel-like blade and characteristic notch near the base — designed to separate fish from the bone without tearing the fillet. Our fish knives are 20–22 cm in overall length and are a hallmark of formal European dining. They're among the most frequently requested pieces by hotel fine-dining operations and cruise line outfitters. Custom blade widths and notch geometries are available for OEM programmes.

What Makes a Knife Last

Mirror & Satin Polishing
5-Stage QC
Every blade is stamped from flat-rolled stainless steel coil using hardened precision dies. This single-piece construction eliminates weak points at the blade-handle junction — a common failure point in lower-quality knives. Blade thickness and profile are held to ±0.05 mm tolerance across every production run.
Blades pass through progressive grit polishing belts before a final hand-buff stage. Mirror finish achieves Ra < 0.2 µm; satin finish Ra 0.4–0.8 µm. Both are assessed under standardised lighting before approval. PVD coating is applied post-polish over 18/10 base for scratch-resistant colour finishes.
Every knife batch is assessed at five checkpoints: incoming steel certification, in-process dimensional gauge, visual surface grading, weight verification and pre-shipment inspection per AQL 2.5 standards. Third-party inspection from SGS or Bureau Veritas is welcomed and easily coordinated from our facility.

--Common Questions
Knife Sourcing — Answered
The questions buyers most often ask before placing their first knife order with a manufacturer in China.
Can you engrave our brand or hotel logo on the knives?
Standard MOQ is 500 sets for any catalogue knife style. Custom OEM designs requiring new tooling start at 1,000 sets. For trial runs ahead of a larger commitment, we can often accommodate smaller quantities with a modest surcharge — contact our team to discuss your specific volume and timeline.
Yes — most buyers order dinner, butter, fish and dessert knives together in a single sea freight container. This keeps per-unit shipping costs low and simplifies your import process. We match design patterns across all four categories so your complete place setting is visually coherent.
For high-frequency restaurant use, 18/10 stainless steel is the standard recommendation. Its nickel content delivers superior corrosion resistance and a mirror finish that holds through repeated commercial dishwashing. For steak knives or serrated edges, we recommend 420J2 hardened steel (HRC 52–56) for superior blade retention. We're happy to advise on the right grade for your specific end-use before any order is placed.
All Stelmont knives comply with US FDA 21 CFR food-contact standards and EU LFGB §30/31. We also provide REACH compliance documents, California Prop 65 declarations and ISO 9001 quality management certificates. All documentation ships with every order — so your customs clearance is straightforward whether you're importing into the US, Europe, the UK or Australia.
Catalogue knife styles: 20–30 days production. OEM orders with new tooling: 45–60 days, including sample development. Sea freight to Europe or the US adds 25–35 days. A confirmed, written production and shipping timeline is issued at order confirmation. Air freight is available for urgent programmes.
Yes. We offer laser engraving, acid etching and die stamping for logos, monograms and text on both the blade spine and handle. Supply artwork in vector format (AI, EPS or SVG). One-time setup costs apply but are credited against your first order. Engraved knives are particularly popular with hotel groups and restaurant chains building a cohesive branded table experience.
Send us your requirements and our team responds within 24 hours with pricing, a full fork catalogue and sample programme details.
